The Climb Can Kill You Long Before The Fall
I’ve met a lot of different personalities along the common artist journey which I know a lot of y’all are familiar with. It’s an adventure full of good vibes, coffee shops, late nights, early mornings, empty wallets, commissioned buys, many collaborations, and of course bad times and failed attempts. a lot of the bad times and failed attempts with others can be contributed to ego. Don’t get me wrong I don’t personally think their is anything wrong with being excessively cocky or even humble. The fact is if you have the skills and talent to be an extraordinary artist and get the job done your behavior doesn’t matter. One thing I have noticed though is Pride Comes Before The Fall. I’ve come across people with huge egos that believed they could do no wrong. so when a situation where they fail or where they haven’t failed but the situation requires ingenuity to get passed a stump they are debilitated. What I’m not sure is if the embarrassment of failing causes them to give up on their goals or if they just believe they aren’t cut out to do what they loved anymore. Everyone fails and if you learned something it wasn’t a waste. Let’s just say I don’t collab much with people all too much anymore. This seems to be a very common thing.
